Replacing hard drive in server

How do i find out in server which hard drive has problem

 

How do i know the Raid configured on which level let me know please it is very important to me to know about it. would be appreciate your quick response.

Most RAID controllers will have software which will run on Windows and give you this info.

IF that management software is installed. One of the servers on my old network [before virtualization] had this option but the software had not been installed at commissioning time. This led to a little confusion when we were trying to sort a problem with that server.

It's a hp Proliant server HP EG0600FBLFH and it's installed windows 2012 server my client told me one hard drive is fail it's not booting also.

 

in this scenario i want to replace the hard drive how would i replace the hard drive what should i do? Could you please tell me basic steps

 

how would i know which hard drive has problem and how would i know is this absolutely hard drive problem

 

what ever it is i should done without losing the data please help me..

A failed HDD on a Proliant should show an amber light on the drive caddy, if it has a hotplug backplane on the front. HP Smart Storage Administrator should show what is happening in Windows though.

As 3s-gtech said, the led should be illuminate amber on failed disk. If your not sure what raid config is, the hp raid array utility will tell you.

 

If its not booting, what error are you getting? You should be able to get into raid array utility before os boot. Usually a 'F' key.
