Afternoon,

I've been asked to look into the provision of Screen Reading software for pupils who will be sitting their exams on laptops. One would assume the exam board could offer advice - but alas they do not.

Are any schools out there using such software? If yes - what.

Hope someone out there can help,

Thanks

Hi Gareth,

We use Ivona Minireader which was recommended by the Scottish exam board. Unfortunatly, this is no longer available to download. Below is a link to a blog by CALL Scotland with a few alternatives they recommend, you might find helpful:

We use ClaroRead on a USB stick. It works great... except on password protected PDFs which some of the past papers were. We contacted the exam board for different versions for the live test.

Hi Gareth,

We looked at a few and finally settled on Claroread Plus. It is good value for money, easy to install and dealing with the company itself was a joy. I can't recommend them enough.
