Sam_Brown Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 HP don't seem to have a definitive "must buy" printer for sticking in classrooms these days. What recommendations do you guys have? Our old HP4250 fleet must be a good 8 or 9 years old now and are finally giving up the ghost.
DalekSec Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 We've been replacing our dead 4250s with 4350s.........

Our old HP4250 fleet must be a good 8 or 9 years old now and are finally giving up the ghost. They are fantastic printers - and we still have one or two of them knocking around. When we went to a managed print system we chose the Ricoh Aficio SP4100 NL, and they were excellent. We're now about to change them again and we are getting Lexmark M1145's but haven't seen them in operation yet - however after May half-term I should have a much better idea of what they are like!
SHimmer45 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 how "dead" is it as last time i looked HP still sell the maintenance kits for them, as they are a true work horse of a printer
jonnykewell1 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Plus if they start to Jam replace the swing plate assembly. Nice and cheap and touch wood seems to sort them out.

Massive smudges all over the paper and some have big black lines down them. Have tried the maintenance kits and new toners to no avail! One keeps on dropping off the network and requires a restart every other day. Some have big cracks on the side where they've been dropped!!!! Just need a refresh in general really as we have a good dozen or so and spending more and more time trying to keep them in working order.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 HP 4350s are good machines and they look just like the 4250s which will keep your staff happy
