New PC :D -- cooler & mobo advice

Settled on the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 at £120 as marginally better than the Asus Z170-A. Both have an Intel NIC, lots of PCI-E, and Optical S/PDIF out, but the Gigabyte has 2 M.2 ports, the proper Intel Alpine Ridge chip for USB3.1 (not ASMedia), better audio chip (ALC1150 v ALC892), and reportedly better construction--I hear tell that the Asus board is a bit flimsy.

 

Of course, no board is perfect, and it seems the Gigabyte has a funky arrangement of screw holes so you can't mount all 9 standoffs, and I lose the Q-Connector block that Asus provide for easy installation of motherboard headers for your case, but those are one off problems.

 

So a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO, Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 mobo, and I think I'm done.

 

All I need to decide now is whether to buy the Dell U2515H monitor (25", 2560x1440, IPS) or wait 2-3 years for OLED to become affordable

I know its a bit over priced but I absolutely love it and would of paid another £100 on top for it! Highly recommend Ultra wide screens

OTH: I don't think that would fit on my desk, even if I lost the second screen.

Yeah, I can't fit a 21:9 screen on my desk :/ I'm likely to spend more time in Word than I am in games anyway, so it'd just feel like wasted space (and two windows open side by side sounds like a terrible idea for my focus).

 

Ideally I'd like something like that Dell monitor but at 120Hz, maybe even with G-Sync, but dat dollar. IPS is the more important factor for me.

I have a Cooler master hyper evo on my current setup i5-4690k I kept it from my old system that ran a Q6600 which was a very power hungry, hot running cpu and it kept that in check no problem.
