We are in the process of building our annual shopping list of equipment to increase our hire stock, and replace faulty equipment.

The hire store bassically does the following equipment

DSLR Cameras

Tripods

GoPros

Projectors (Normal and short throw)

Speakers

PA Systems

Every cable known to man

TVS

Monitors

We are we are an art college in Higher Education, if you were building a shopping list what would be on there, in addition to what we already have?

Assuming your lot do a lot of filming, our Media dept lend out:

Boom and area microphones.

Steadycam grips?

Lighting to go on top of the tripods/stands? I liked the Fotodiox Flapjacks I spotted on tested.com the other week. Behind the Scenes: How We Light Our Videos! - Tested

We have another store which does all this, our store offers basic photography equipment where as the other offers things like you mention.

Are portable greenscreens a thing?

If they're not, they ought to be.

Yes they do exist, again done in another store.

Im really struggling to think of anything that students might need to use, and we have even asked them.

GoPros

Could add 360-degree rigs for the GoPros? 280-degree lenses for GoPros to enable 2 to be used for a 360-degree video setup, or a set of two Kodak SP360 4ks for 360 degree video?

PA Systems

Wireless mics? Combination DI box / mixer / splitter for audio connections?
