Shadow_Walker Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Having an issue with some iPads. Basically when you go to load an app it loads for a second and then seems to crash again and returns you to the home screen. Anyone come across this before?
j224 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 All apps or just one app? Have you tried restarting the iPad? Have you checked to see if there's an update for the app(s)?

Just seems to be one app it's the Novation launchpad app. Just checking now if there is an update for it. Edit: I have the latest version. Edited March 23, 2016 by Shadow_Walker
russ01uk Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 We've had this a few times, mostly with the Office Apps - Removing the app and reinstalling it seems to fix it. Anoying!
Chockster Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Always worth checking storage space too when this occurs. I've seen this happen If someone's filled it to the brim. Usually with VIDEOS OF ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in my daughter's case. Edited March 23, 2016 by Chockster
Brimstone Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 This problem is caused by your network and has nothing to do with either the iPad or the App. If the App requires access to a server outside your network and your proxies are not transparent then you need to contact the App developer to check which ports need to opened, other wise the App may crash. If the problem persists for every app on the iPad then the cert signing has failed in Configurator and your network is blocking Apple's APNS service.
ITBadger Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Another possibility is relating to a bug in VPP. If the app has been assigned to the iPad using VPP via Profile Manager then there can be an issue when the app is updated with it not writing back to the PM database. Uninstalling the app and reinstalling it from the device should fix the bug. 1

This is currently a bug in Casper. It's to do with Automatic updates being set on iPads running IOS 9.2. It was apparently fixed in 9.2.1 but some people are still reporting it. 9.3 is out now so should be better. If you want to avoid it, turn off automatic app updates for now. fredbayker Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 +1 for reinstall. This can also happen if you switch from user-based app assignment to device based assignment. The only solution is to remove the apps and redeploy.
