Doesn't google also have something called a 'SafeSearch'? Is that not the same job.

There was a saying never re-invent the wheel, and this isn't really reinventing the wheel. It's unique. But I also like my little saying of "why should I get a new car when my 10 year old Clio works fine!"

Hope you followed the rant, in laymans terms, Google gets me from A to B and has done for many years, so theres no need to change.

I can see this would be useful to revisit a site, for example in your History list, but not for the first time round. I'm not sure that you can judge how useful a web site will be based on a thumbnail view of the page; even if you can, it certainly takes longer than skim-reading the summary text in "regular" search engines (especially since the wheel button can't be used to scroll though them).

Considered opinion? Cute, but rubbish!

The main problem isn't the animation, it's that it takes too long to load those thumbnails and actually show me some results. It took several times longer than google for me to find something relevant about ISA server.

it has built in porn etc blockers though so could be useful in schools

It might have its own filtering, but you can still see filtered sites through it, for example YouTube.

Our ISP blocks images from coming up in Google Images if the image is held on a filtered server, but none of that luxury with Redzee so you could end up getting some inappropriate shots coming through.

Bear in mind it is a Beta and isn't fully functioning yet
