I have been asked if there is a way to delay any emails sent by any user via Exchange 2013 and wonder if anyone knows if this is possible. At the moment I have been asked for all messages sent after 10pm to be delayed until 6am the following day. This would be for internal and external emails. Has anyone done this?

Many thanks

pretty sure this has been discussed in the past, and the only workable solution was a script that stopped the exchange service (possibly the transport). and then restarted it in the morning.

There is a delay email option in outlook but it doesn't store it on the server for later delivery but locally which means it doesn't get sent if the client isn't on then. There's nothing in the server end that I am aware of that would allow you to do that

Our head was quite keen on emails after 7pm being delayed until 6am unless marked as high priority but in the end we went with a voluntary staff curfew between those times. Roughly 100 emails a week get sent between staff during those hours now which everyone is happy with.

We have monitoring tools sending out emails at any time.

TBH I can't see the problem, if people don't want to be disturbed by their phone making sounds when they recieve emails during the night then why don't they jus keep their phone elsewhere's or put them in Airplane mode.
