CyBeRkId2002 Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 can't disagree more on the @SchoolsBroadband recommendation. We moved to them a few months ago and was one of the worst decisions we have made. Had RM before who were generally quite good. 1

SchoolsBroadband Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 @whs1000 @sister_annex @Blue_Cookeh @CyBeRkId2002 Our sincere apologies on the filter 11 issue. Filter 11 has now become filters 11,12 and 13 to take higher load and add processing power. A full report will be with you soon and we are going to call any school affected. Please note this has only affected a small subset of our customers who were using filter 11 and not our entire base. It's been a very frustrating issue, particularly when we've had multiple hardware failures in a very short period of time but we've been working with Lightspeed on a fix for it which was rolled out today and we're hopeful this will resolve the issue. Dave
CyBeRkId2002 Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 The filter11 issue (ongoing since Tuesday and still not resolved) is one of a multitude of issues (around 6 fairly significant issues and counting) we have had over the past 4-5 months we have been with schoolsbroadband. Don't particularly want to share issues at the minute as we are still trying to resolve things with schoolsbroadband but to say we are unhappy with the service (and customer service) we are receiving is an understatement.
Opendium_Steve Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) Also, do you need one provider to do it all? Thought about procuring things like filtering and firewall separately? I'll echo this suggestion - if it's an all-in-one bundle then you're in for hell if you're dissatisfied with any one part of it since you have to change the lot. Although getting quotes for individual bits is more effort at the start, I think there's a big benefit to doing so. Edited May 9, 2016 by elsiegee40
whs1000 Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Down again today after the fix was applied yesterday, really annoyed
clockend25 Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Not on filter 11 but have been getting the service updates anyway. Sounds a mess.
whs1000 Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Schools Broadband down 10.22, up 10.59, down 11.22, and just come back up at 12.00
whs1000 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 still having issues here... around 5-6 days on. What issues are you still getting ? ours is up at the moment but it normally goes down during first lesson due to the increase in traffic so fingers crossed it has actually been sorted over the weekend. The issues with filter11 for us first started on 13th April, 4 weeks ago
CyBeRkId2002 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 we use the PAC code for advanced filtering of HTTPS google and youtube searches... currently getting certificate errors using this.
jertsy Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 we use the PAC code for advanced filtering of HTTPS google and youtube searches... currently getting certificate errors using this. Ditto, I implimented the PAC and certs last week and we are getting cert issues on some websites using IE. I had an update on Friday saying they have generated a new cert and to try this and they closed the call! Its not fixed it so I have asked them to reopen it, I wish they would not do that, its better to ask the customer if the fix has worked and then close the call after is the norm. @CyBeRkId2002 Are you getting the issue just with IE or chrome too?
CyBeRkId2002 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Certificate isn't working on either... Chrome (our main browser) will not let you skip past this either meaning Google & Youtube are inaccessible using it. IE lets you skip past the warning.

Chrome (our main browser) will not let you skip past this either meaning Google & Youtube are inaccessible using it. IE lets you skip past the warning. Hmmm your issue is slightly different to mine in that chrome works fine and its only some website that dont load correctly or dislay a 'this page is accessing information that is not under its control' message in IE. If I remove the PAC it all works fine but then advanced logging does not work Hopefully they will sort it soon.
whs1000 Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Schools Broadband down again this morning, we are also getting issues with ssl inspection

whs1000 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 @CyBeRkId2002 @whs1000 @SchoolsBroadband - did these issues get resolved? We got moved to a different filter so not sure if it was fixed on filter11 cluster, it was working on the new filter straight away
SchoolsBroadband Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Yes all Lightspeed issues resolved and the impacted customers have now had nearly 2 weeks normal service. See the filter 11 thread. Dave
