So we have the first broken screen on an teachers iPad mini. It's just the glass, the digitiser is working fine.

What do you guys do in regards to repairs for them?

Thanks.

Personally haven't had a need to repair one, but due to the changes Apple made recently with regard to disabling devices which have had the Touch ID (fingerprint scanner) exposed/possibly tampered with, I think it would be easier/safer all-round to see about Apple fixing the product at the local Apple Store.

We fix them in house, a lot cheaper than sending them off! And If they are already cracked it's pretty easy to remove

Actually, yeah doing some research Apple did release a fix for the 'Error 53' issue, so should be fine to fix them in house as @DalekSec said.

Isn't error 53 only to do with Touch ID? Depends on which version of iPad mini it is.

It maybe, I haven't found anything definitive on that front, but as they released a fix for it anyway as I found out in my previous post, shouldn't be an issue now. :)

As you say, if you can fix them in house anyway, much cheaper I agree. :)
