So the above error finally went and I've now pushed out the Spring release via SOLUS3 to over 130 clients.

It only crashed when you click the "Check for Update" option.

A reinstall does not seem to solve the problem....

Any ideas?

If after re-installing the SOLUS3 UI does not resolve the issue then re-install .Net Framework as this has become corrupt. Edited by Barcrest

Will the agents automatically update the PC if a newer version of SIMS \ Discover is available? Or do you need to set this behavior on the server?

I want to set up up our site so that all workstations are updated automatically if a new version has been downloaded on a server. But I want to make sure I still control when we decide to download and apply the upgrades on the server.

Clients will only update once you deploy the SIMS update from Solus 3 to the server... you could have the files downloaded by S3 for a month before you choose to run the upgrade, and then the clients will pick it up

Thanking you. I remember hearing some horror stories in the past where SOLUS 3 had updated over night and pushed out updates during the worst possible moments!

Well my previous reply regarding the .net reinstall didn't seem to fix the issue with the Solus 3 client not running on that machine so I am still at a loss of what to do with that machine. I was able to install sims manually and it works but that is a workaround and not a fix.

I have fixed mine by installing the latest dot net framework 4.6 and then uninstalling the solus3 client locally and reinstalling it via the solus 3 deployment tool. This has fixed the issue on 2 machines I was having where i had the client actively refused error.

Has anyone come across an issue on Windows 10 whereby installing the agent then running Windows updates stops the agent from working, needing a reinstall?

Not experienced this yet but we're in the process of rolling out Windows 10 slowly so will be interested in how this develops.

Out of curiosity what version of W10 are you using? We're using the LTSB Version (long term servicing branch) which doesn't receive any of the feature updates that have been known to break things in the past. Worth a look if, like we used to, some of the feature updates are breaking your computers.

I'm running windows 10 and have not seen any Solus 3 issues but then I have not had to do an install yet since installing windows 10. Solus 3 is still running though.
