  1. That is a right pain to install, it's almost like voodoo. You need to run the nova satellite installer then when that has installed run the NT6 installer from within the SATS folder that has created. You will also need a copy of the licence file placing in the SNOVA directory once the install has completed.
  2. I was looking forward to it but I think we will be dumping Sims at some point, the incoming head has already gone for SISRA for reporting and assessment so I can see him having a different idea with regards to MIS.
  3. Cheers, you are a legend.. Didn't think it would be tucked away in there.
  4. Anyone know what group you need to be in to manage ownership of reports? I can't seem to locate the option so i assume my permissions are out of wack.
  5. The issue is i believe that if the PC had sims installed from non solus and so was in the program files folder. Solus will keep installing the new versions to there. If solus is doing a fresh install it will use the correct path of program files (x86). You could try un-installing on the program files machines and then attempt a new install via solus however there maybe something in the registry still pointing to that incorrect path meaning it will install back there.
  6. If the laptops are vanilla windows then personally I would just leave them set up with windows update so they can update anywhere with a internet connection.
  7. With EMET is it just a case of installing it and importing the rules for popular programs?
  8. I'm running windows 10 and have not seen any Solus 3 issues but then I have not had to do an install yet since installing windows 10. Solus 3 is still running though.
  9. So the vulnerability is from 7 years ago and involves direct access to the actual computer....
  10. If you put the latest versions in the setups folder and run the upgrades on the server you should be good to go. The clients should update when they are run. I have never had an issue with this when we were on solus 2 and I always found upgrading to be pretty painless.
  11. I assume you were planning on this for some sort of intranet access. I had our registers from lesson monitor displaying nicely on a web page so they could be called up on a phone or tablet in the event of a fire but the security issues ended up with me not actually going live with it for external access. Obviously internally there wasn't any point.
  12. Did this go anywhere? I only ask as I see there is visual basic MIS posted up on planet source code that looked interesting and i wondered if there was anything going on over here.
  13. FMS and Options have been a pain for me since we left XP. They use a global sims path which doesn't work if you have a mixture of 32bit and 64bit installs of windows because of the program files vs program files x86 issue. We now have everyone on 64bit windows finally but it is something to consider.
  14. CTRL+ALT+DEL Can be disabled as well. Another Idea might be to force the always on top focus.
  15. Anyone have any links to anything about this possibly being removed from league tables. I would assume this will not happen for this years tables and probably not next year as usually notice is given like the iGCSE Cambridge english where this is the last year for it to count.
