kennysarmy Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 So the above error finally went and I've now pushed out the Spring release via SOLUS3 to over 130 clients. I've got a few PC's that the notification software crashes on with this error: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: sims.solus3.agent.ui.exe Problem Signature 02: 3.10.73.23 Problem Signature 03: 5630ad16 Problem Signature 04: Sims.Solus3.Agent.UI Problem Signature 05: 3.10.73.23 Problem Signature 06: 5630ad16 Problem Signature 07: e5 Problem Signature 08: 88 Problem Signature 09: System.BadImageFormatException OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: c370 Additional Information 2: c370a2eed79fdc1022744e283062faed Additional Information 3: 0549 Additional Information 4: 0549924d2059a594dafed517e222b73c Read our privacy statement online: Windows 7 Privacy Statement - Microsoft Windows If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt It only crashed when you click the "Check for Update" option. A reinstall does not seem to solve the problem.... Any ideas?
Barcrest Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 (edited) If after re-installing the SOLUS3 UI does not resolve the issue then re-install .Net Framework as this has become corrupt. Edited April 12, 2016 by Barcrest
Sam_Brown Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Will the agents automatically update the PC if a newer version of SIMS \ Discover is available? Or do you need to set this behavior on the server? I want to set up up our site so that all workstations are updated automatically if a new version has been downloaded on a server. But I want to make sure I still control when we decide to download and apply the upgrades on the server.

Clients will only update once you deploy the SIMS update from Solus 3 to the server... you could have the files downloaded by S3 for a month before you choose to run the upgrade, and then the clients will pick it up
Sam_Brown Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Thanking you. I remember hearing some horror stories in the past where SOLUS 3 had updated over night and pushed out updates during the worst possible moments!
Barcrest Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Well my previous reply regarding the .net reinstall didn't seem to fix the issue with the Solus 3 client not running on that machine so I am still at a loss of what to do with that machine. I was able to install sims manually and it works but that is a workaround and not a fix.
Barcrest Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I have fixed mine by installing the latest dot net framework 4.6 and then uninstalling the solus3 client locally and reinstalling it via the solus 3 deployment tool. This has fixed the issue on 2 machines I was having where i had the client actively refused error.
IT_ Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Has anyone come across an issue on Windows 10 whereby installing the agent then running Windows updates stops the agent from working, needing a reinstall?
Sam_Brown Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Has anyone come across an issue on Windows 10 whereby installing the agent then running Windows updates stops the agent from working, needing a reinstall? Not experienced this yet but we're in the process of rolling out Windows 10 slowly so will be interested in how this develops. Out of curiosity what version of W10 are you using? We're using the LTSB Version (long term servicing branch) which doesn't receive any of the feature updates that have been known to break things in the past. Worth a look if, like we used to, some of the feature updates are breaking your computers.
Barcrest Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I'm running windows 10 and have not seen any Solus 3 issues but then I have not had to do an install yet since installing windows 10. Solus 3 is still running though.
dapaulio Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 im running solus 3 on windows 10 on my pc. seemlessly upgraded through two sims versions with no problems
