I also forgot the numbers. YOU HAVE SO MANY NAMES!

I have this one, twitter, and Draike2590 which is the same everywhere. Argument invalid ;)

Anyway, back on topic - I run my own TS server that we use for most of our gaming, but it's a good idea to have an Edugeek TS server running. If the number of EG game servers increases, it'll be useful to have one central server with channels for each game rather than having everyone use other people's servers. One central place to find the connection info rather than "I'm in X's server today, these are the creds".

Had a play with Discord last night, and have a few issues with it that I don't like. The interface doesn't scale well, so you can't have the chat in a nice single column somewhere, and the notifications don't seem to work reliably. If there's only gonna be a few users, what do people think about Mumble?

I've ran mumble servers before and it's quite good, I've had small ones running from a raspberry pi before! The 3d sound feature is also cool if your game supports it!

My only issue is that there are a lot of gui interfaces available for the server, at least for linux, so some fiddling might be needed to get one you like.

I have played with mumble in the past but I have sadly found it always be a bit worse than Teamspeak but I suppose thats to be expected since its free. Its not terrible, its just Teamspeak did more.

Teamspeak is free as well?

Nope, free if not used for business.

Pricing

You get 32 users with one virtual instance on the free license (run one myself)

However, for the 500 users across two instances, they've got a pretty airtight list of pre-requisites. I can't get one of them myself, something as simple as Amazon links in the forums can stop you from getting an NPL license.

I wouldn't want to expose the EG guys to that lot. Plus, an EG server should only really be for EG users, otherwise things can get messy :p

I would be up for a Teamspeak server. Not just for the gaming chat but also for maybe some debate & chat regarding the technical forums.
