When you've selected A001 by pressing mode a few times, I'd have thought you could press enter to select what channel mode to operate in? Mmm that would make sense, but no, once I select A001, press enter, press + or - it moves on to A002 or A512 1

I've used them for all our lighting and PA stuff here. 1

If anyone is looking for lighting control equipment/software for Leds then I highly recommend the Avolites Titan one dongle and software. If anyone would like info or pricing do send me a PM.

If anyone would like info or pricing do send me a PM. That Titan One looks interesting although it isn't cheap! And they had to go and spoil it by using photos of an Acer laptop on the website!
VeryPC_Anthony_L Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Depends on what you class as cheap. What the software does and can do is amazing. The titan software that you use with the dongle is the same that is used on all their consoles. Having owned a Tiger Touch 2, the titan one is cheap.
Chris_ Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 We've got some Chauvet RGBW LEDs and some LEDJ 7Q5 RGBW LEDs. The Chauvet ones are of a higher build quality, and slightly deeper colours, but then they were 5 times the price of the LEDJ lights! The LEDJ ones work fine for us using them as uplighters around rooms for events, or for adding colours to school productions.

Check out the user creations - I particularly admire the one built in an old Flora tub - recycling and saving money!

We ( son and me ) Tried one of the £15 ebay leads with freestyler and it worked ok. We blew it up though, we had some stray voltage on our project using Arduino DMX and a home built Mosfet controller for an array of LEDS.. The Arduino, DMX Shield and DMX interface died. TT

I installed one of these in a club and from memory they're a little awkward. The manual for the desk is http://www.highlite.nl/silver.download/Documents@extern@Manuals/50718_MANUAL_GB_V1.pdf Try following the "Preset Mode" option on page 7? And whereabouts in the world are you? If you're local to someone who knows more we could maybe help out in person! And for reference - ChamSys is amazing. Controlled my full lighting setup (traditional generic, LED Pars, movers, projection...) for our annual production of Narnia. Free software and visualiser and very cheap hardware. Happy to chat to anyone who wants to investigate this further.
twin--turbo Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I have a Obey10 now, it has a DMX polarity setting. Some devices are wired back to front and need this.. perhaps the desk in question has this and its on the wrong setting?? Our crap LED can no longer responds to DMX, found out a couple of weeks ago whilst troubleshooting a dimmer (turned out it had inverse wiring)
SamanthaD Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 The inverse wired stuff is an old standard used before DMX was standardised. Look up PMX / Martin serial if you really want to know more (your dimmer pack may well be using this pre-DMX standard). Showtec stuff is definitely DMX, I've used that desk before and it's fine, in fact anything that's been purchased in the last 10 years should be DMX. There are adapters you can buy to inverse the wiring at that point in the chain, then re-invert it back to the DMX standard. Here's one... PULSE - PLS00405 - DMX ADAPTOR LEAD, 3P PHASE REVERSE | Premier Farnell CPC UK Hope this gets you working! If not the 5 hour version of Chamsys is £10.....

I've used them for all our lighting and PA stuff here. @hallb15 Just wanted to say a big thanks for the recommendation, Steve got us sorted dead quick with a nicely priced little bundle of x4 new lamps and x1 controller. All setup for the Glee performance and everyone is very grateful 1
