As in the "you get £250 per device" one?

 

There's a few bits in the T&C that hurts in regards to mass upgrades, obviously the lowering discount when it's cheaper machines.

 

It's limited to 50 devices - Qualifying Products purchased further to volume discounts over 50 units such as fleet purchases or special bid discounts are not eligible for the promotion

 

Not "that" old - Your Trade-in must be no more than 6 years old (age limitations are not applicable to genuine Microsoft XP computers) and complete with all accessories including working battery and power supply where applicable.

 

You need to do a lot of manual removals etc -

 

Non qualifying trade-ins will be subject to the following deductions:

 

Battery worn out / failed £20

Cracked / damaged casing / Heavily Scratched £20

Dead Motherboard £50

Missing 1 or more keys from keyboard £10

Missing/ Failed Power Supply £20

Permanent marking (etched / asset tag) £20

Power on password locked Not eligible for promotion

 

etc etc

 

But if you follow all the guidelines the machines are probably worth a bit anyway haha

It all looks a bit too good to be true as what I have been told verbally by HP (so I have now emailed them so I can get it in black and white) is that as I'm a school I can trade in up to 100 devices, I am buying 51. If I buy a laptop which is £605 inc VAT, than that is around £500 exc VAT and then £250 back means I'm getting a laptop that would be £605 from a normal shop to a normal punter for £250! If I spend £25K on 50 laptops, and then send in 100 devices and only get £200 per device, that's still a £20K refund! Can't be right.....

 

Just wondered if anyone had used it and had that sort of result out of it.

Used it lots of times in both my current and previous schools without an issue.

 

Claimed cashback offers on laptops, desktops, servers and printers.

 

They've also done some good deals in the past with free processor for each one you buy when building a server.

The 100 limit is only on TAP products, so smaller screens. So if you wanted for example 15" laptops it wouldn't count.

 

And then all the trade in items need to be fully working, no broken batts etc

 

But yes you can save a fair bit still, not arguing that. Just highly unlikely if you work in a school that nothing will be damaged/cracked/broken/key missing on a school device haha

We just did this for the first time last month. We had to clean the computers of asset tags but other than that it was fairly straight forward. They provided the shipping labels so we didn't have to pay for sending them off but we did have to take them to the Post Office.

We certainly won't be getting the full £250 back as everything of ours is security marked so they knock £20 off just for that! Even if I spend £25k on laptops and only get £5k back, I'm still spending my £20k I budgeted is the basis I'm working on.....
