Need Demo units of Interactive TV Panels ASAP Money to Spend

Hi Suppliers

 

I am looking for demos of interactive touch screen panels.

 

Must be compatible with active inspire (don't want to change the software)

Must Be strong

Long warranty

65-80 sizes depending on prices

 

I am looking at purchasing 2-3 depending on prices but if they work out more will be required.

 

The BVS eco touch Panels Look interesting and price seems good

 

Need to get the units asap as I have some funding that needs spending Quick.

do you actualy have a defined plan of how they will be used or is it spend it or loose it.

 

I had ~10 clevertouch glorifide tv's that never got used for interactive... I had no say in their purchase.

No plan as of yet but this money needs spending and to be honest our school needs to get away from the projector whiteboard times.

We have a couple of Promethean models for the same reason - don't want to contemplate moving away from the software and they have been great so far. We have 65" versions, for the money I don't know what else is out there - BETT would be a good place for you to see them all later this week.

I've recently demo'd a Sharp 80" capacitive touch screen, but its expensive but worth it. You will still be able to use the ActivInspire software.

Also tried a 70" Sharp but its infrared touch screen which I wouldn't recommend.

I believe if you use Promethean software on any hardware that isn't Promethean they want about £400 for the privilege of issuing a licence.

interesting... how robust is the capacitive touch screen? Thinking how easy ipad screens etc are to break.

 

Loads of touchscreen brands on the market. Prices vary widely but if you have money to spend then prices of 70-80" screens have comedown a lot. You can pick up a 79" 4K screen for about the price of a 65" screen a few years ago.

 

Try smarter solutions in wakefield as they specialise is this type of kit.

Its a piece of glass so glass that size would need to be some sort of hardened glass, so it should be OK.

 

There may be a 70" version thats capacitive in the future but they don't make one right now.

We found that the board can be accidentally activated when holding a pen close to the end and then trying to write, the users hand also activated the board so if you had multi touch enabled you would be writing twice, or in the case of the Sharp erasing something. The problem lies with how it works. Some boards use an x-axis and y-axis light bar on 2 sides some on 4 sides when the beam is tripped the board senses that a touch has been made. It did had a cool feature in that if you activated a small area it said "thats the pen" but if you activated a larger area it says "thats an eraser" so you could wipe stuff out using your hand.

 

The Capacitive one fits our needs much better as we also found it more accurate and being 80" was better for the bigger rooms we have (or will have at our new site)

For Interactive Touch Screens, go in Promethean ActiveInspire settings and change input settings from pen to touch
