We have real issues using the circulate on Junior Librarian.net. Once activated with the administrators account it works fine for the user who is logged on. If a different user then logs onto the same PC, it requires unlocking again.

My understanding is once unlocked it downloads a cookie to that users profile. If I am correct then every users who logged on that PC will need circulate unlocking before it will work. With 480 students, potentially logging onto 180 PC's in the school that is an almost impossible task.

Junior Library tell me there are 30,000+ schools and none have a problem. Is that right, and if so why are we?

Thanks,

John

I have it in one school and I certainly haven't seen that issue. We have class logins but even so we have 10 accounts.

Were they really that unhelpful? I've found their support pretty good in the past

I log in on my machine with the full on admin account (not the librarian one) and unlock circulate in the settings. This allows circulate for all machines everywhere.

Did the school elect to use ReadingCloud or was it forced on them?

From what I remember you have to log in on ReadingCloud to use Circulate so the only way around is to use the Silverlight interface (ReadingCloud is HTML5) which looks like Junior3 with the apple tree in the corner and a big book.

Have you checked if your settings if you can un-select ReadingCloud from the main interface?

Your best bet is to contact support.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I found this one while trying to get Circulate to stay unlocked on the new PCs I've just put in our Libraries.

The tick box "Unlock Circulate" is a per user option via Cookies, as I found out when the fix only worked for one person.

If you want to unlock Circulate for a machine, you need to install the Hardware Plugin, "ieplugin.exe", as described here http://documentation.microlib.co.uk/jl.net/plugin.pdf. It says it's only required for external hardware such as Identikit and says nothing about Circulate, but seems to enable that also!
