Evening All,

I am after some suggestions, I have got a Toshiba Satelite Pro R50 which wasn't detecting the wireless card so I have reimaged the laptop.

Once reimaged, it detects the wireless card, however, it is unable to detect any wireless SSIDs.

Is it worth sending it to Toshiba support under warranty?

Thanks in advance!

If it's under warranty I would send it in. Before I did though, and I'm not being funny I have been caught out by this before, but the wireless switch on the laptop is switched on?

I've spent an hour working on a laptop which showed the wireless card there but wouldn't detect any networks because the switch wasn't on (where as I'm used ot the wireless card not being shown or being disabled if the switch is off).

Yeah if the lap is amber/red ( if it even has one ) then may just be soft disabled.

It's also possible the Antenna leads are not connected to the wifi card.

TT

Yeah I've seen that on a couple of Stone laptops although they did just about pick up the SSID but no signal strength even when next to the AP. At least it was quick to fix.

Some HP laptops need a utility to turn on wifi/blue tooth properly.

Are there any diags on the site like Dell provide?

Had some bother with Toshiba laptops before where we would have wireless issues if the bluetooth was enabled. Logged a warranty call with Toshiba and it came back as no fault found. Try disabling the bluetooth completely and see if it improves things.

I have that with some HP machines that have Atheros combo cards in them. They're pretty poor excuses for individual RF implementations, but together they don't really work at all!
