torledo Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Have used them in the past...must say they were very good, extensive range of products and competitive pricing. On a par with PCWB.
enjay Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 competitive pricing. On a par with PCWB. By which you mean their prices are about 10% above ebuyer.com, then? :-)
mattx Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Anyone use Computacenter? my knowledge of them is from the corporate would and not education. are they reliable, value for money, etc etc? stu Used them in my last job [ NOT education ] - from my experience their staff are quite highly technical and do know their stuff. It really depends in what capacity you want to use their services though.... What sort of work do you want them to do ?
Cravon Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 testing them atm, all i can say is make sure you have a 2nd or 3rd quote.

It really depends in what capacity you want to use their services though.... What sort of work do you want them to do ? yeah my experience of them is not from education. so far i am testing them out for hardware and software supply but i think they may be hard pushed to beat Ramesys or Novatech etc. watch this space....
joe90bass Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Using them to supply kit for our new school, under our LA contract just so we don't have to go through a full tendering process ourselves. At the moment I'm finding our account manager a nightmare to get hold of!
MK-2 Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 they may be hard pushed to beat Ramesys Ramesys? Is this the same Ramesys who quoted us nearly £1500 for two wireless APs in a portakabin!?
BaccyNet Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 We havnt used them directly but our supplier has sent us stuff from them (yeah I know, the bill would have been higher:rolleyes:) and the stuff that has turned up has been on time and every piece of it worked (48 slimline HP computers, 60 HP thin client terminals, 108 HP monitors) Oh yeah, we love HP kit:D
kesomir Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Ramesys? Is this the same Ramesys who quoted us nearly £1500 for two wireless APs in a portakabin!? Heh, Ramesys also recently tendered a quote for me on an HP Procurve 2800-48G that was about 20% higher than I bought one for.
