Please recommend me an O2 contract upgrade

I have an O2 ongoing contract it should cost close to £25 a month but because I'm a loyal customer of several years I only pay something like £12 a month. I currently have a Nokia Lumia 520 running Windows 8 which has served me well. I'm now looking at replacing it as the battery isn't holding the charges so well nowadays.

 

I'd tried a HTC before the Lumia but hated it. Any recommendations on here please on what to look at to replace the Lumia with?

Does that mean you are ruling out all Android phones or just HTC Android phones?

If you like windows phone, stick with a Nokia. Cant count the number of times i've dropped it on the floor and its caused more damage to the floor then to the phone. I did however manage to crack the screen (note it still worked) when i dropped it on a solid concrete floor in ammo room of a fort at Felixstowe. I've switched to an iphone really just for apple pay and a few apps. Really i could of got away with a case that holds a debt card but hey.

I've just today got the Xperia Z5. Its lovely. Smaller than my z ultra, but I'm loving it just the same.

Your choices in life start with deciding between IOS, Android and Windows.

Im an IOS fan only because my Android experience wasnt a great one with an HTC Desire that had no space to store stuff on.

That's a shame. I have also had a bad experience with HTC (poor build quality on a Nexus 9), but that hasn't put me off Android altogether.

 

My current phone - a Nexus 6P - is fantastic and easily the best Android device I have ever owned. Both the screen and the camera are among the best you will find on any current smartphone and the battery lasts more than a day (at least with my usage). Standby time is also on par with iOS now thanks to the Doze feature in Marshmallow and you can charge the battery from empty to ~70% in 10 minutes. The fingerprint reader on the back is very handy too (pun intended ). I use it all the time to unlock the phone, purchase things in the Google Play Store and to secure my passwords in LastPass.
