MattDLEA Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hi, We have PRM-35V1 projectors in school one of them has started to have black and white pixels on a large proportion of the screen. I have swapped bulbs and cleaned the projector also wiggled to projector while turned on to try to eliminate this been dust. Also have tried differnt inputs so VGA and HDMI both display the same. Any ideas? See pics Cheers
CamelMan Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 We had something similar on a Smart short throw, turned out it was the unit itself - the type of projector used a spinning wheel to create the colours, and this was what was breaking down.

timbo343 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 We have 2 cheap NEC NP200 projectors that are like this.. yup its the DMD chip which is at fault and NEC wanted £500 to repair so we still have them. The technical term is "white stars".
