Heard this on the radio this morning. I was aware he had kidney problems, but don't know whether that was the cause

 

A great rugby player and a sad loss:(

Am very saddened by this. He was a giant in the sport.

Very sad news, I heard it from the BBC news team and they said that he wished to see his kids reach 21 years old.

 

He will be missed.

Radio 2 played a clip with the "19 stone of the hoof" comment and a reminder of the 4 tries he powered past England. He certainly brought something different to the game. Frightening and awesome.

Definitely a great shame. A lot of comments on Twitter at the moment regarding the fact he was a really nice guy not just a great rugby player. E.g. "The little things. @Rugbyworldmag interview at height of fame. Hotel lift broken. Jonah lugged female snapper's kit up six flights"

It's very sad, I know a few people who met him and said he was such a genuinely nice guy.

It was one of the defining moments of the 1995 world cup where he ran riot over England I felt, we took great joy in denying him the opportunity to score in our game against them, it was an achievement I felt and he exploded onto the world stage with that world cup performance.

 

One of the true superstars of the game and such a shocking loss at such a young age.

A very sad day, the first super star of rugby union and probably the bloke that pointed union in the direction of going professional.
