liveman2 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Warning... This update takes time. I just downloaded over a fibre connection and installed on an i7 Haswell, SSD, 16GB of RAM. Took at least a few hours. After the first restart the system was slow and crashy so I had to force a cold boot. After that, it works fine. I noticed that the built-in Mail app is significantly improved with support for S/Mime certs and also the option to turn off the awful conversation view.

The reason, it says, is so that you have the option to roll back to your previous operating system. Although this might frustrate some, there is a workaround that might get the latest version on your computer quicker"".
Arthur Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Three Reasons Why You Might Not Get the Windows 10 November Upgrade Semi-buried in the FAQ for the Windows 10 November update, there’s some answers available for those who might be wondering why the upgrade is not showing up yet. I’ve seen a few people ask about this already, so here’s the answers: If the PC has been upgraded to Windows 10 within the last 31 days, the update will not be available. This is to ensure that you can downgrade in the event the upgrade doesn’t work or causes issues. If you’ve chosen to Defer Upgrades (Settings > Update & security > Windows Update > Advanced options) the update will not be available. Jump back into this settings area and clear the checkbox. If you installed the November update it won’t be offered again. To upgrade again, you'll need to visit Microsoft's Upgrade web site and choose to install it from there. Additionally, there’s another potential reason. It could be that you tried to install it and it failed for one reason or another. I had this issue (yeah, I screwed it up) and you can read about how to solve that HERE. In my case, I canceled the upgrade by shutting the PC off. Also, there's some clarification needed. The 1511 upgrade through Windows Update is considered a consumer option. Those running Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise editions, connected to a company domain, will need to wait until the upgrade is available to deploy. The ISOs from the Volume Licensing Center aren't supposed to be available until sometime next week.

Update to enable WSUS support for Windows 10 feature upgrades « KB3095113 This hotfix enables Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) on a Windows Server 2012-based or a Windows Server 2012 R2-based server to sync and distribute feature upgrades for Windows 10. This hotfix is not required to enable WSUS to sync and distribute servicing updates for Windows 10. www.windows-noob.com/forums/topic/13251-first-major-update-for-windows-10-available-today-windows-10-version-1511/ This update with the new classification “Upgrade” can be synced down from WSUS after the hotfix is applied (linked above) if the Upgrade classification is checked explicitly. However, only ConfigMgr vNext clients can complete the end to end installation successfully since this Windows 10 Upgrade is in a different format and requires special handling on the client side. Without ConfigMgr vNext, the install will fail. Using an OSD Upgrade Task Sequence is still the recommended way to upgrade to Windows 10 via the current versions of ConfigMgr (excluding ConfigMgr vNext) as these versions actually do not support Windows 10 upgrade via Software Update Management. The release date on the page still shows as - "Release Date 8/1/2015" which seems to suggest they have not been updated? Thanks Matt

mattpant Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I did download this on a test tablet I have at home, but I wasn't sure that this would allow us to download the Enterprise / Education version and be able to use a Volume License Code to activate?
