Joanne Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I found the ending of F4 reaaaaaaaaaaaally disappointing (regardless of your option), in terms of post-ending gameplay. Yeah I thought it was glaringly obvious what was going to happen. I've had plenty of hours of gameplay after completing the main storyline, mainly exploring the map and collecting bobbleheads.
CHR1S Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Played it streamed to my laptop last night instead of the TV and it clicked much better. I could actually read the stuff I was supposed to.

CHR1S Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Yeah I HAVE to wear my glasses to play it. Im to lazy to get my driving glasses out the car and its way to late to put my contacts in
Joanne Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Im to lazy to get my driving glasses out the car and its way to late to put my contacts in I have to wear mine for watching tv / computer and driving so they are on my face pretty much all day!
browolf Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I have got to the point in all the faction quest lines where the next quest will basically cut off a faction. Going to make a save here and play through each faction, ending with the railroad last which is the faction I actually want to choose so can continue with that save. I was tempted to pick the institute because despite some of the horrible things they have done they also have the best chance of really making a difference in the commonwealth and seeing as you get put in charge of them. Then they could be a real force for good in the common wealth (especially supported by the settlements I already have working together, the minutemen and the railroad if you let the gen 3's go free). The brotherhood wouldn't like it but there wouldn't be much they could do against me. Just a shame there is no way to get an ending like that. I think I might have to choose now. I've decided to mainly run with the Railroad but haven't fully alienated any of the rest yet. But I just got an institute mission to help a courser and when I got to the spot there were 3 Brotherhood Gunships and a ground dude fighting the courser and it doesn't look like he's winning by himself. I'm assuming the brotherhood will be pissed off if I start firing on them....
Duranis Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 He will eventually beat them. He is flagged as essential so cant be killed. I had the same thing happen to me (it isn't part of the quest, they just spawn there sometimes), even after I pick pocketed all the guns and armor off the BOS he still took forever to kill them. In theory you can stealth kill them without them turning agro. I accidentally killed a bunch of BOS people before and they are still ok with me.

When you rename weapons, make the first character of the name 'z' . That way they always appear at the end the list. So when you're in the weapons station and scrapping weapons what you picked up, then you don't accidentally scrap your favourite weapon...
CHR1S Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Managed to get a few more hours under my belt this weekend, currently flushing Kellog out of his building and running out of ammo constantly! Frustrating game!! haha
Garacesh Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Ah, yes, I had that trouble for a while, too. Either A) Use a wide variety of guns/ammo types so you can keep swapping between them and B) Find a source of caps so you can buy more (I personally just sold all the weapons/armour I found for a while, but now I have 10k in caps it's not an issue) Protip: Pick an ammo type (For me it's .45) and give your companion that kind of weapon. Do not use guns that carry that ammo type yourself. That way and you scrounge can be passed on to your companion and they won't run out of ammo (They actually use ammo now. Magical companion ammo only applies to their default gun) So far I have Trashcan Carla, the lady near the Diner (whose name I can't remember), Tinker Tom and vendors in Diamond City that I fast-travel between to buy ammo when I'm running low. Overall, though, it seems much more beneficial to use projectile weapons rather than energy ones, but perhaps that's owed to the multiple types of projectile ammo vs the 2 types for energy weapons (Well, 3 if you count fusion cells)
CHR1S Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 @Garacesh I'm doing a sniper build at the moment, I have the legendary laser rifle you get early on and a home made pipe rifle. I just ticked level 11 (or 12 cant remember) so got a way to go yet.
Garacesh Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 D...Did you just call me 'Gatecrash' before making a ninjaedit? xD Ruddy autocorrect. Basically all-but-one of my weapons is legendary (the non-legie being a Gauss Rifle, but there's no way I'm giving that baby up!).. It's a little disappointing how easy it is to find 'legendary' equipment, actually.
Joanne Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'm exploring now. Level 59, 25k caps and 999+ ammo on my main 2 guns the "Wazer Wifle" and the plasma sniper. I also use the Grognak (sp?) axe for ghouls and insects. I am getting to the end of the game now... I think I'll give myself one more aim - to get a settlement to 100% happiness and then I will start a new campaign and join a different faction.
Tesla Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Most legendary equipment i've found is rubbish. most of it sits in my workshop. I like The Maximised Laser Sniper i have. and my Shotgun that deals 121 damage.... it's also easy to keep track of the ammo for those two.

I like The Maximised Laser Sniper i have. and my Shotgun that deals 121 damage.... it's also easy to keep track of the ammo for those two. My 'sniper rifle' is a neverending plasma rifle with sniper mods.. Though I do also have Reba II 'back at home' which I used for a while. But for a hunting rifle I use a legendary one that has extra VATS damage. My double-barrelled shotgun does extra damage to Ghouls. I have 2 10mm pistols, one being a fully modded Deliverer (for shneaky shneaky), the other being a explosive 10mm pistol (15 points of explosive damage wherever the bullet lands) Then there's my non-legie (but fully upgraded) Gauss rifle. I think 2 of my armour pieces are legendary, one that makes safes easier to pick, the other provides better sneak. I have tonnes of legendary items, but I hoard them at home and never plan to use them lol. Even the useless ones like the Junkie's weapons
Duranis Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Wait until you get a 2 shot gauss rifle, with all the perks it is an insane amount of damage (can 1 shot kill pretty much everything with a sneak attack in survival mode). The 4 guns I tend to use the most are 2 shot guass, 2 shot hunting rifle (my main weapon), explosive shotgun and the oversears guardian set up for high damage single shot. All 4 of these guns are way overpowered and I'm glad I didn't get them until quite late in the game. If you never want to worry about money or ammo again set up a bunch of purifiers in sanctuary and sell the water.
Duranis Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) What level are you. I don't think they start showing up until about level 30-35ish. I got mine from an unmarked abandoned house south-east ish from bunker hill. There is a chance for a legendary ghoul to spawn in the room upstairs which if you are a high enough level can drop pretty much any item. There is also one standard one in the BOS airship. It is in the locked "cage" room where the vendor is on there. You need to be sneaky to steal it without getting caught though. The vast majority of legendary items I have had drop sucked but I also spent a lot of time fast travelling to the different locations where they spawn and killing them. Just wandering around the glowing sea is not bad for legendary farming either as you get quite a few spawn in there. I have chameleon effect on pretty much all my armor and can basically be standing in front of people without them seeing me now Only annoying thing is it makes the pip boy really hard to see and the white flash when you go in and out of the stealth effect gets on my nerves. Tesla Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Err, I haven't playe dit for a while but i was near the 30's, i think.
dfergusson Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) You can buy a Unique Gauss [spoilers] "The Last Minute" from Ronnie at The Castle after completing "Old Guns" Edited January 18, 2016 by dfergusson
Garacesh Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 [spoilers] I haven't stormed the Castle just yet, but I've gotten to the point where Preston is giving me the option to do it, though I'm finishing rescuing settlements first.
Joanne Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Get yourself a good weapon!!! Took me a good few turns to finish that mish.
