Oops_my_bad Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Hi all, I have an XPS file - does anyone know of a program or anything that can edit them? Thanks:eek:
Geoff Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 You can't, that's the point. They are the MS equivalent of PDF. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XML_Paper_Specification
mac_shinobi Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 (edited) http://filext.com/file-extension/XPS The easiest way to view the physical contents of an XPS Document package is with Windows Explorer. The XPS Document API creates XPS Document packages in the ZIP archive file format. The package contents may be stored in a compressed or uncompressed format. In either case, they retain the ZIP organization. Simply changing the file extension of an XPS Document package to ZIP allows the XPS Document to be opened in the file explorer as if it were a standard ZIP archive. Figure 2 shows what a sample XPS Document looks like when viewed in Windows Explorer. http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/06/01/XMLPaperSpecification/default.aspx Edited January 15, 2008 by gecko
mac_shinobi Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Surely if you extract the xml file from the zip file after renaming it that would allow you to alter it ? Not sure not tried it, if you upload your xps file I can have a go later on.
Iain Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Some ideas for editing XPS files are here. Seems a bit long winded though......
