Epson Projector EB-460e - How to remove password protected splash screen

Hi,

 

I bought an epsom eb-460e projector from auction and it is coming up with a large orange "Password protected - if this unit is seen outside of educational facility please contact authorities.." splash screen every 5-15 minutes.

 

Is there any way to remove this?

Hi,

 

While I don't want to suggest that you are not 'on the level' with this post it is your first post and you are asking for advice on how to remove a security setting from a piece of equipment. The splash screen is there to discourage theft of the projector. Was the action you bought the projector from above board? [legal?]

 

Could you to get in touch with the previous owners to get advice?

I understand and having been on the receiving end of a breakin cant stand stolen goods or the people that buy or sell them.

It is an education model projector with that security feature built in. There is no reason why they would give you the ability to remove it.
