RLR Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Hello, we have around 150 teaching staff using the SIMS teacher app to take registers. We're finding that every now and again people require a new device association code. It seems to be random and we're not sure why this is happening. Is anyone else using the SIMS teacher app having to give people new device association codes every now and again? I know the recent update made it so we had to re-associate the devices so it might be our users haven't updated their app in a few weeks.
SteveB Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 When ios is updated, a guid that is used by teacher app changes on the ipad and thus the device becomes deauthed. It was a bug, now fixed in the latest app, but it will happen at least once as the devices are already authed, but then it should not happen again
RLR Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 Sorry to bring an old thread back to life but this seems to us that this is still happening on every new release of the SIMS Teacher App. We have trickles of teachers coming through the door asking for new codes. Also, since yeserday, the SIMS Teacher App is no longer available in the IOS App Store. Has it been removed?
GREED Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Has this been since this was 'fixed', has there been another release since early October then?
RLR Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 I checked a teachers iPad yesterday and in the "Updates" area of the App Store it said SIMS Teacher App had been updated yesterday (21/10/15). When I clicked the SIMS Teacher App Icon in the app store to get more information about the update it didn't want to load but every other app did. I then tried searching for the App but it can't be found. From the snapshot of the update list it said SIMS App Version 3.0.0. Is it possible they release an update then pulled it back?
GREED Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 If course, you have been a SIMS customer for long enough to know the usual updates sometimes have issues that means they are withdrawn from SOLUS! Either that or Apple have the hump!
PhilNeal Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 The release was suspended whilst we checked reports of the problem re-occurring; it will be back later today unchanged. We have put one further check into our server to resolve the odd exception.

Heliosedu Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 As recently as today we are still having issues with school's devices 'forgetting' and requiring new association codes. It's frustrating to say the least.
PhilNeal Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Have you reported this to the service desk? I haven't picked up that this is still an issue.
