Google Apps login via Azure AD

Evening all,

 

In our quest for SSO and CSO we are looking at using Azure AD logins for our Google Apps service. Has anyone done this? It seems easy enough but I wondered if there are any pitfalls I should be aware of.

We do this and it works nicely, very straightforward. The only downside is they have to login twice sometimes for Example you log in to google with your AD credentials and then you get redirected the Azure sign in page and have enter the same details in again.

Hi @LukeC - thanks for getting in touch. We currently have a Google Edu setup with users created via the Google DirSync software. Is moving it over to Azure going to overwrite what is already there or do you think I should delete them all first and start afresh?

I started off using GADs and Gaps for the sync but found it unreliable. I don't remember deleting any users but this was a few months ago now.

Just to bounce this thread.. I started having a play with this and couldn't get it to work.

One thing I need to consider is how my Chromebooks will play with the new logon

Was going to ask the same thing, we're on O365 but want to make use of Chromebooks. Have seen some posts about ADFS SAML logins but not too much on how well the Chromebooks work. Don't want to make the sign in process cumbersome so interested to see how you get on.

@garethedmondson @LukeC - do you find that it picks up group owners in google groups? or all users as members?
