Foldr Certificate

We have recently purchased Fold and wish to use a signed SSL certificate.

 

I have generated the CSR and Private Key and submitted this to our chosen Certificate Authority. I have then used the .crt and .pb7 files and copied and pasted the string into the foldr certificate settings page. The certificate fails to register.

 

Has anyone been successful with this?

Actually, I've just looked but it doesn't show the cert in the Config page after you've applied it. :-(

Sorry to hijack the thread...

 

I've just renewed our SSL cert for Foldr, but the iPads still say that the Certificate is not trusted. Has anyone else had the same and solved it?

What cert did you purchase? Was it an Apache cert?

 

Please reinstall your signed certificate & private key but also include the 'bundle' certificate that GoDaddy include in the zip file that you have downloaded from their customer portal.

 

The bundle is simply the root and intermediate chain combined in one file so you just need to drop this into the CA ROOT box on the certificate installation screen and finally hit save. Please leave the Intermediate certificate chain box blank.

 

Once this has been reinstalled, you can use the same link above to verify the install is compete and you should no longer receive certificate errors on your iOS devices.

Yes - Apple don't seem to trust GoDaddy certs unless you deploy them to the devices.

 

I've just seen RPettit's response, but I'm sure I already did that - I'm familiar with combining cert chains into one.

It was bought from 123-Reg and appears to be an AlphaSSL. All they provided was the SSL cert in a text file...

My fault, in the email sent to me there was a further instruction to get the CA Root and Intermediate Certificates from AlphaSSL

To resolve your SSL certificate issue please reinstall your signed certificate and private key but also include the 'bundle' certificate. When you download your signed certificate from GoDaddy’s customer portal there is a second file included in the zip called ca-bundle.crt. Many other providers require you to download their root and chain certificates individually, but GoDaddy make things a little easier.

 

When reinstalling your certificate, please ensure the content of the bundle file is dropped into the CA Root box within the Foldr Settings > Certificates installation screen. As mentioned in rpettit's message you can leave the 'Intermediate Certificate Chain' box blank as the bundle contains both the root and intermediate chain in one.

 

Hit 'Save' and after 60 seconds your certificate should now validate successfully on all devices, including iOS when using the app.

 

You can verify your certificate installation by using an online SSL checking tool such as this https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html

I've got the bundle already, but I combined it into the CRT box as per RPettit's reply, not separate.

Hooray!

 

Finally got this working. I had to re-download the certificate and bundle together from GoDaddy because although the one I had validates and installs without the bundle, as soon as I used the new bundle with the old (valid) certificate, FoldR discarded it and used the builtin one.

 

Anyway, sorted now.
