Users Newtork Home Folder remained to My Documents

Hi all

 

can remember the fix for this issue the students have a Home drive on the server they save to eg the H drive example (\\server1\students\12smith) for some reason now some are being renamed to My documents , i remember a fix for this a few years back but cant seem to locate the fix .

 

 

anyone help

its because desktop.ini is present in the user folder. (remove the file via script / GPO preferences / filter view in storage server)

remove this file and it will present the correct folder in explorer

There are plenty of threads regarding this on here.

 

Probably the best but not easiest solution is to redirect the users home folder to a sub directory in their home folder
