Edu-IT Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I don't think this has already been posted. https://blogs.office.com/2015/09/02/new-school-year-brings-new-security-features-to-office-365-education/ 1
FN-GM Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Does anyone know if this is this the same as "Azure Rights Management Premium for faculty" Licence please?
Edu-IT Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) I believe it is. https://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj585024.aspx Edited September 3, 2015 by Edu-IT
FN-GM Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 That would mean it also includes Email encryption!
FN-GM Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 And it works, can encrypt emails with the standard licences!
Steve21 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I may be missing an obvious one as only read about it a bit but can anyone with a Microsoft account open the emails or is there a way to restrict it to a certain account? Eg HR to Head etc Thanks, Steve

Edu-IT Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 That would mean it also includes Email encryption! Yes. That is advertised on that page. Did you have to do anything to activate it, as I'm not seeing it yet. Do you see it under 'Service Settings'? Can you restrict it to only certain users so the kids can't start using it?
FN-GM Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I used this to set it up (ignore the licence information) - Office 365 E-mail Encryption - Blogs - EduGeek.net You can restrict it as its encrypts based on custom transport rules.
Steve21 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Only the recipients can read the encrypted messages. If you sign in with a different account you are refused access. That makes more sense Lovely will have to have a play sometime Thanks, Steve
FN-GM Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Also you can setup automatic encryption and decryption between 2 office 365 tenants. The end user will not even know its happening.
Edu-IT Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 I don't see Rights Management yet, so, it's obviously not active for me.
EduTech Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Rights Management is pretty awesome! I DRM e-mails all the time, obviously you have the compliance bars that you can now meet... both when communicating internally and externally. At the same time you also get a few perks where I you were to send an e-mail to quite a lot of people in a DL or Large Audience you can stop them from replying all etc. It does come in very handy for sure and I think this a great benefit for EDU Sector! get DRM'ing! ;-) James.
