[sims] Dropped the ball!

Hi everyone,

 

Really tired and because of this I have installed the Patch No:20849 KS3 Programme of Study Curriculum before the Patch No:20884 Sims Exams Patch to update the ASB/ASD calculations for KS4 Students, due to the Patch No's following on (Should have studied it)

 

Am I right in believing that the latter will have the prior also or am I mistaken in this too!

I would think they offer two different fixes, so wouldn't be included. I think you should have no issues.

On reading the transcript for the KS3 exams patch it takes the database to version 3.632 or something and the KS4 patch actually requires that this version of the database is reached before it can commence as you would normally get the error "Fail due to database inconsistencies" which I got when I tried to install the other as I hadn't read the notes when you click on the cross (Doh!) which gave me the news that I had installed the last one first hehe!

 

I would hope that all will be well but will find out tomorrow as I have one of the MIS team ringing me in the morning.

Patches should be independent, and wouldn't include another patch unless specified in the write up.

If you can't now run the patch you need due to the database number, you either don't need it for some reason, or the other patch needs re-writing.

I think i did this before and the official solution was to wait for the patch to be re-written. It might be easier to rollback and start again. Do you have users in making changes?
