How'd you manage to keep them out of the building for this long?

Ours came back Monday, and the 11+ tests for Year 6 started today (Year 6 were in on Friday morning doing practice papers)

Some schools round here went back last Thursday!

Prep School - staff had two training days......

After this week, I may take a week off - that would go down well.....NOT.

We're a prep school too. However, 11+ for state Grammars is as important as CE round here!

Inset days were last Thursday and Friday (not that I saw many teachers in!)

Our local comprehensive goes back tomorrow - 2 of my children go there and they were still asleep when I left for work today!

We had the blessing of the kids all being turned away yesterday for the first day back. The heating had packed up and the electric was going to go off to fix it.

Staff however had to stay as we could relocate ourselves to the two blocks with heating.

Back to normal service today though.

jeez, you guys are lucky. The kids here have been back since last Thursday (4th!). Mind you, I've not had a student-based problem in the the last few months now. Its always staff-based-and-caused!

I'm depressed all the time so what's new?

Well my Admin's Admin bar is sort of comming along - Thats New - just finished adding the support sites bit - works well, well it works with a few of bugs in.....

Everytime I add something to it, it gets more bugs - pain the bum.

Also whats new is that I sucessfully knocked a mobile phone out of a morons hand on the way home whilst he was driving with his window down. I followed him for about half a mile, pulled up along side him at a set of lights and did the deed. The look on his face was excellent - shame I did not take a picture really, but thats a bit difficult with Mbike gear on...

Excellent! I usually just give their reg number to the police but that's even better - much more satisfying!

Believe me it is :D - did this about a year back with a guy in a Pajero (How appropriate :D) we were turning right and he was going straight on - nice warm summers day, windows down... .. BEEEEEEP... the phone left his hand and it nearly went out the window, but it bounced off the edge of the window and disappeared into his footwell..

I know that if you do report drivers using mobiles and that if you give them all the details such as date, time, location, car make & model & reg it's sometimes followed up.

I've reported muppets for dangerous driving & had to give statements a few times.

Would you like a hug :D. Seriously its one of the things that I don't miss about education. That and not having to get up at some ungodly hour to go to work. :p

Good work, you and Mattx! He probably spent the next few hundred metres driving along with his head under his seat looking for the phone, though... Whenever I see some idiot on the phone, part of me hopes they'll hit the back of me (gently, of course) so I can get my dent fixed on their insurance!

The dent wasn't my fault, by the way; some plank who can't parallel park hit me and just drove off; they probably did some fair damage to their car too, though, which is kind of satisfying, but doesn't help repair mine :-(

That kind of thing would make a superb youtube video :D

I once stuck my 7 year old Digital Cam on my bike - I wanted to highlight through a load of short vids the amount of bad driving bikers witness everyday.

Thing was, the cam was a bit crap for it as everytime I went over say 40mph, the picture started to breakup !! Obviously the early digital cams were not supposed to do that sort of thing...

Never mind. If the school ever get one themselves [ instead of borrowing my old one ] then I may have to 'borrow it' for a while for my own selfish requirements....

A couple of years ago I set up a video camera in my car to record my 20 mile each way journey to and from work so that I could show people the antics of the muppets I encountered on the M6 and the nightmare that is the ring-road around Coventry. Got some great footage and if I ever get around to it I'll post it on YouTubeless someday.
