I am hoping someone might be able to provide me with some advice!

I'm trying to configure alerts for WSUS on a server running Windows Server 2012 R2, I have put in all of my credentials and I get the following error:

System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Exception: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions 132.245.194.242:587

What AV you running? As lot will block it by default.

Also w hat is that IP you're sending to as if it's something like O365 are you setup for relays to it?

@Steve21 - Thanks for your reply, we have McAfee AV installed on our servers. Sending it to smtp.office365.com as we use Office 365 for our email services.

@Davit2005 - our email is hosted on Office 365, shouldn't be the firewall as I have other devices which are emailing successfully.

Mcafee blocks SMTP by default, you tried it with the firewall off just to test it?

And are you sending it from a valid 365 account as they don't allow spoofing
