Windows 10 antivirus

i installed windows 10 on my work machine and noticed windows defender is happily sitting there defending my pc I guess

 

I didn't even consider installing another antivirus.. Just wondered who's going to still fund and deploy a different anti virus or who will try stick with defender!?

This isn't a choice that those of us with SCCM face as we can deploy System Centre End Point Protection with no extra cost incurred.

SCEP (SystemCenter EndPoint Protection) Client is currently not supported under Windows 10, you can bodge the install but its not officially supported yet.

Defender is essentially the consumer version of SCEP..

I found no issues with SCEP so will stick with Defender for now

Version 4.8 does not work, thats 4.7 on the site there.

If you try and install SCEP manually, it says SCEP is already installed, thus detecting Defender as SCEP. It proves that the cores are the same. I'm not worried, we can deploy SCEP when it becomes available.

If you manage endpoint protection for Windows 10 computers, then you must configure System Center 2012 Configuration Manager to update and distribute malware definitions for Windows Defender. Because Windows Defender is included in Windows 10, an endpoint protection agent does not need to be deployed to client computers.
