Patch cabling kits

Hi all

 

I start my new job in a months time and one of the first jobs is to wire a whole new building up. I am not bad at patch cabling but not brilliant either and need to get faster. Can anyone recommend best place to buy some kit for at home just so i can get a bit more practice in.

I got mine from ebay - cable, ends , crimping tool, all the rest of the gubbins for cabling, tools, screws, etc Was pretty cheap as I recall Edited July 10, 2015 by witch

More than one Krone tool. Extra bodies, even for simple things like putting the screws with seemingly infinite threads back into the pattresses.

Buy pre made cables here, far easier than making them. They are cheaper than you making them, I don't know why anyone would make their own these days.

I assume you mean patching as in socket to patch panel, rather than path panel to switch?

 

If someone had to make patch cables from switch to panel for a whole building, my heart goes out to them, would take a while and probably cost more ha.

 

But I either get all my gear from Scan or eBay, depending how soon I need it.

I got my crimpers and wire strippers from maplin for about £15 (probably get cheaper somewhere else) and a krone tool for 99p from eBay. All have lasted More than five years.

If you're doing the actual structured cabling then I would recommend Panduit stuff.
