Its gonna be one of those weeks I think. One of our teachers is unable to access the internet via Internet Explorer. Works fine in Chrome. They both get their proxy settings from the same place (Internet Options - Automatically detect, and the WPAD.dat is being received fine). I'm at a bit of a loss where to even start to figure this one out.

If Chrome can access and use the wpad.dat file just fine, and Internet Explorer can access all intranet sites just fine, what is happening?

We had something similar a couple of times recently. We fixed it by deleting their local profile and then it started working again

Have you altered the contents of WPAD recently?

Deleting the local cached copy of the WPAD file can help sometimes (I have had similar issues).
