Any of you guys cycle? Road MTB?

Last weekend I completed the London 2 Brighton was a great day and only took 4h 15 (stuck at accident and traffic at the beacon!)...Oh and then cycled back again...popping a crank bearing and with a worn cleat.

 

Wondered how some of you guys cycle to work?

When I am not on Motorbike and it is not raining too bad!

 

personally no preference:

I love speed of Roadie -Fellt F55

I love the chuck around of a MTB - Boardman Pro Xc

so I have 2 bikes.

I used to cycle to work, when I worked in the middle of Brum. Actually, I would drive in until the traffic stopped moving and whip the Brompton out of the boot and two minutes later, whizz by the car that was in front of me when I parked. (And flick a 'V' sign just for good measure!)

 

Now, I ride the Brommie in the summer on weekends and on the rollers in the winter. Everything with a Brommie is a compromise (except the folding) so it's not the best machine for getting around on, but I love mine. It's 13 years old now and is one of the first T6's on the road - technically it's a T3 with a T6 conversion.

Cycle to work on my Vitus Vee, does the 20 minute job just fine with what I throw at it.

 

Would love to do something like L2B, but on a SS I might die..

Cycle to work every day, either a 9.5 mile road route on a nice Gensis steel frame, or MTB over the South Downs on a recently purchased Canyon.

 

 

Like road riding, but not nice in commute traffic, South Downs route is pretty special.

My Cycle to work certificate came through yesterday so off to pickup new bike after work!

 

It's a 34 mile round trip for me and very very hilly so gonna give it a few months before I use it for commuting.

I've got a vintage racer from the 70s that I'm gradually converting to fixie so that I can go all hipster on everybody

 

Got a stuck cotter pin at the moment. Who designed those stupid things anyway?! Grr

I have a Brompton...actually just about to sell it!

Because I don't commute in the car I found it to be a waste. even tried going by train and using it, but that took longer than me cycling in!

so it sat in the garage for the last 3 years..money back from it will go to the new bike
