Novalee Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 How do you organise your desktops? I want something like Fences (but free!!) to sort out my 'useful' things on there. Any ideas?
DJ-1701 Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Personally I haven't used (or heard of) Fences, but searching on Alternativeto (Fences Alternatives and Similar Software - AlternativeTo.net) there are a few of suggestions they provide. Once is Nimi (Features of Nimi Places) which a couple of people visiting the site in the last 3 weeks have agreed it's an alternative.
Novalee Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Thanks @DJ-1701 I'll take a look. Sorry @Galway I should have specifed, I mean my own, personal desktop.
fairm010 Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I have a naked desktop - no icons at all. The best kind of desktop.
Boredguy Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I find naked desktops are NSFW. Anyway, only really have a few program icons on my work desktop. They are the recycle Bin, Impero Console (Since it can't be deleted damn it), and the other is a HTA file to make it easier to RDP into the servers. All the rest are pinned to my Windows 8 start screen.
Diello Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Empty desktop mostly - temporary working files only, applications are either pinned to task bar, or accessed via Start Menu or Launchy.
