One of the school is support has sims on the admin network (again I don't touch it) and they have been having sims installed via solus 3 to class laptops. Now every now and again they get a pc it wont install to or it seems to magically disappear from a pc. KIm told that the only way to get solus3 / sims ontol the pc is to deploy it from their server but if its listed as should have solus3 and it wont install is there any way to manually install the client as im fed up of being piggy in the middle between the school and another 3rd party it firm

you can install the agent manually from the Solus3 agent folder on the SIMS share, should be a little installer script which does the install and populates the server connection settings

firewall needs to be off / ports opened on the client for it to talk and receive updates

Are you sure they haven't just deleted the shortcut to SIMS?

I've occasionally removed the device from the SOLUS Deployment thingie, removed SOLUS from the machine (Programs and Features) and then redeployed via the Deployment console thing.

That's odd!

Not that it should cause the folder to disappear, but our LEA specified a load of file/folder permissions that had to be in place. (They actually suggested giving all SIMS users full access to "C" originally). Users have "Modify" access as pictured. I'm struggling to remember why they wouldn't have that access to some of those by default - maybe I just went with everything they named just in case.
