Oaktech Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Yes, it was fine... The battery packs came with instructions and I just followed them. No biggie. I bought my batteries from BT Business Direct. 1
round2it Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 Thanks for that : came in after lunch to the ups moaning and the battery light glowing like a christmas treeI hope we don't have any power issues this weekend too late to get one today 1
round2it Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 order placed with BT Business direct should be here monday 1
plexer Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 The only thing to watch out for is if the batteries have swelled at all it could be fun getting them out. Ben 1
speckytecky Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 You are so right @plexer Had that situation with a APC UPS 1500. So swollen it was impossible to get out online. Had to switch the server off, disconnect the UPS and it was the best part of an hour before the battery had cooled down sufficiently to get it out. The only thing to watch out for is if the batteries have swelled at all it could be fun getting them out. Ben 1
GeekyPete Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I've swapped over 10 or more over the years. It just keeps running. It's nothing to be concerned about. If you can, get someone to help. The batteries are about 18Kg which is OK to lift but it can get a little tricky to move with control by yourself. 1
round2it Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Ok got the new battery fitted it but the red power light is still solid red at the bottom. I was going to wait till the morning and then run a self test to see if it will clear or do you think the whole unit my be a bit iffy and needed repair.
Oaktech Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 That's normal. It will need time to charge the batts all the way up and then do a self test. It depends what it's internal self test schedule is but it could take some time to clear. The last one I did was a teeny little 750va jobby and it took a month to run it's self test and decide it was fine! 1
round2it Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 (edited) but the battery indicators are fully charged. ah well if that annoying beeping sound stops every hour then I will be happy. I will let the battery charge overnight and do a self test to see if it actually works. will post back. I think it does a self test every 48hrs on this particular model.
