Just a topic of conversation, really. Please move to another area if needs be, couldn't particularly pinpoint it on a technical forum

Our general policy here is 'print/copy what you need to', currently we've got staff printing/copying all manner of exam papers/assessments, large jobs that naturally add up in cost a fair bit. As I sit here I've got someone copying 38 copies of an 11 page test running in the background and it's been like that for the last week or so. According to Equitrac we spent £670 odd last week.

Does anyone here have a different way of dealing with stuff like this? Or do you rule it out/ban it altogether? I remember the bursar at my last school going absolutely bats*** insane when he found out people were sending them directly through to printers rather than going to our reprographics manager instead.

We've always had multiple copies/high page count banned on all normal printers (pcounter/papercut etc), so if they really wanted to do it they could but it'd be like 10 pages at a time or go repro :)

We used to do this but we haven't done so for the last couple of years. Generally staff are quite good at taking large jobs to reprographics now.

We're a small-ish school, we don't have a dedicated reprographics room / person. We are in central London, though - does anyone have a recommended next-day print service that costs less than your average print from a photocopier?
