Is it possible to list the users who;

have account selection set to : Automatically Charge to Personal Account?

or

those who have it set to : Show the standard account selection pop-up?

Only way I've found is run a report - Ad-hoc Report: User configuration - and filter in CSV

Example: (formatting probably gets nuked)

Username Full Name Overdraft limit Account selection Charge to account Can charge to personal account Can select accounts from list Can select shared accounts using PIN/code Can perform printing as another user

TEST TEST £0.00 Standard account selection popup N N Y N

TEST TEST £0.00 Standard account selection popup N N Y N

Next question:

Can I have papercut automatically add users once they are in AD with different account options based on AD fields or group membership perhaps?

So teachers would get "Allow user to select shared accounts (from list)" with When shared account is selected : Charge shared account.

and pupils would get : "Automatically charge to personal account"

I think you can do that with groups, it pulls them from AD.

Import the groups you want [add/remove groups on the left], it'll sync automagically every day [forced sync when they print] Change the group settings to what you want and from then on, when someone is added to, for example the teachers AD group, they'll get those settings.

You may have to manually make that change to people imported before you changed the group.

...if that makes sense.

It does but teachers are going to be in multiple groups so not sure that will work....

Worked perfectly - thanks.

IIRC when it's set up there's a group called [All Users] that deal with the default settings for new accounts.

If it's just going to be a case of some teachers being "teacher" and "Co-ordinator", set up a co-ordinator group with the higher quota [which we have] and tick "use this to define new users" [or something similar]

I'm not sure how it works with 2+ groups... I'm guessing the highest setting wins, but I haven't had a chance to test it.

Le EDIT:

This may help:

PaperCut KB | What are the implications of users belonging to multiple groups?

Oh, cool. I guessed right. Sort of.

I would set a maximum allowance in every group, if it's adding it all together. Easiest way would be to set the maximum as the allocation. So, for example, 200 per week with a maximum of 200.

I see the ALL USERS Group, and I think it's doing just that - whether you are a student or staff member it's setting the :

Initial Account Selection Settings to Automatically Charge to Personal Account.

I was hoping for an option to set New User Settings based on an AD field or group membership.

ie.

if you are in a security group called "pupils" then set Initial Account Selection Settings to Automatically Charge to Personal Account.

but if you are in a security group called "staff" then set Initial Account Selection Settings to Automatically Charge to Show the standard account selection popup.

I think I'm just going to have to remember when I add staff to do a sync and then manually edit their accounts....

Which groups would you want to add into papercut if the staff belong to several?

I believe you can set quotas for groups. If a person is a member of different groups then they would get different quotas depending on which group they select from the drop down or using pin code.

Yes, you do this within groups and tick the box to use this group to define new user settings. Add your groups in first specify what you want and then either delete all users or do a bulk user action to re-apply initial settings (Advanced) and select the group. Before you make any major changes run a backup first.
