Has picked up some situations that we wouldn't have known about otherwise.

We have switched from Securus to e-safe in the last month. All good so far though we did have some issues removing the trial version from some machines.

Used PCE in the past and was so labour intensive having to go through all the false positives.

 

E-Safe removes this problem with it being a monitored solution, for that I feel it is worth the extra cost - though the head may disagree yet as they didn't see the PCE implementation.

 

We had some problems initially with it causing a certain program to crash, a common Office program. They were adamant it hadn't been seen anywhere else and worked tirelessly to fix the issue with a school specific patch.

 

All works fine now and as it's Safeguarding I don't even have to deal with the daily reports they send. Every once in a while or strange problem will come back but after applying the patch again all is normal.

Did not have the best experience with this, corrupting profiles (windows 7) was one major impact using this. This may have been site specific. Not allowing HTTPS traffic at one point also gave us some headaches!

One real bug bear (assume this was part of its security aspect) was that it does not appear in add/remove programs and requires a specific uninstaller based on the version installed, made troubleshooting a pain (ie. does the problem exist without the software).

That said the support is good and they are responsive, it just lacks any user forums / FAQ's etc for easy access to queries. The software itself in terms of reporting and finding esafety issues worked as intended.

A lot of software of this nature it 'invisible'. No more of a chore to run an uninstall msi than it is to Add/Remove...infact in bulk it is actually a better method.

the msi had to be tailor made to the specific version that was installed, which did make it a little tedious.
