Any info software for logon screen?

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section

 

When I used to work alongside RM systems, the only good thing I liked was the banner across the logon screen that displayed the school name, PC name and PC network status.

 

Does anyone know of anything similar or an alternative to this? Even just LAN status at logon screen could help us loads but I can't seem to find anything.

Have a look at BGInfo

You can get it to display boot time, HDD free space, station name, station IP,...

Our LEA set up our network a couple of years ago. They got BGInfo to display station name and station IP prior to user logon.

BGInfo creates the wallpaper with the info.

 

We've had it running on our network since moving from CC3 so that users can see the station name at the logon screen, and we run a different BGInfo script at logon so that the username gets added along with the station name with the specific wallpaper for that type of user.

I've used BGInfo on servers before, how do I get it to come on at the logon screen?

We have a bootup script on stations that runs our created bgi file, and then takes the generated bmp file, renames& converts it to backgroundDefault.jpg and then moves it into the workstations oobe folder.

 

As we define the wallpaper for workstations via GPO, it automatically looks for backgroundDefault.jpg in %WinDir%\system32\oobe\info

Script is in Powershell. We run it as a logon script from the NetLogon folder and copy the wallpapers and BGInfo files to the local station.

It has different wallpapers depending if screen is normal or wide aspect (as some images don't stretch well!)
