Presumably even if the search results are not what you expected, actually clicking on one or more search results is blocked by your filtering?

Look sike you may have some malware on your machine try running something like ADWCleaner or Combofix and search again.

I agree, but in this context the request still needs to be made to retrieve the file, which will most likely be blocked by filtering anyway.

 

If there is malware, then I agree fixing that first would be a good idea.

We were unable to recreate the issue with other logons on this PC....

 

We deleted the users local profile, which was re-created on his next logon and now the results are as we should expect.
