Kawlindakew Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Is anyone using MDM software to manage their tablet devices? We have just bought 20 Galaxy Tab 4s and we are already tired of having to install an App 20 times. We are after some software that will allow us to deploy apps from a central location, push out any updates that may be required and wipe any device if it becomes lost. This software must also be compatible with different devices, not just android. because eventually we would also like to be able to push out and remove apps on pupils own devices. Any Suggestions is it a good or bad idea? Thanks in Advance
Oddbod Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 (edited) Absolute MDM for cross platform device management… see http://www.absolute.com/en-gb/products/absolute-manage/mdm Meraki - if you have Cisco network hardware for iPads, then there is Casper… after that, most other MDM systems I looked at were business/corporate focussed… Pupils own devices - would require them to agree to a profile being downloaded to their device, you would have to give them an incentive to accept that - like free wifi whilst on site. Bit of a grey area, you might need to get parental consent… Regards Edited May 15, 2015 by Oddbod
Quackers Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Lightspeed supports iOS, Android and Windows. They charge around £4 to £5 per year per device. You can also give teachers logins so they can select iPads in their class for example and say enable camera for 45 minutes.
