I have a user who has no problems when logging onto her own pc or any other accept for this one.

Nothing is listed in All Programs, though all her documents and network shares show.

I've had a few other users logon to the same pc and everything is fine for them and when I log in I see everything.

I assume it's a profile issue but I'm not too sure where to start, any pointers would be really helpful.

Cheers!

On PC with problem go to start

control panel

user accounts

configure advanced user profile properties

find the user and delete.

Try logging in again as said user.

As above + delete or rename her folder in C:\Users\ + delete her user folder at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ . Usual caveats about care/making backups first in registry etc apply. Reboot and try to log on again.

If you're using a redirected start menu then make sure the group policy has applied for the user, it's possible the user may be in the wrong OU?

Still stumped by this...tried all of above, after deleting the registry setting the desktop took a lot longer to load which I took to be loading a large profile for the first time, but still empty.

Is the user too near or over their disk quota per chance?

What we usually do when we get these symptoms is to delete their application data folder and a new one is created when user logs back in again. (RMCC4 network)

Pretty sure it's not a local profile problem if that lot didn't cure it.

Not a solution as such, but could you copy the contents of C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs (or wherever it is) to C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs ?
