[ipad] Ipad constantly rebooting

I have been handed an iPad that just brings up the apple logo for 10-15 seconds then goes black then repeats.

 

Had a google about but holding down the volume button does nothing (youtube clips). I have managed to plug into mac and get it to look like it can be restored, but I dont want to do that yet if theres a way to get it done with out loosing the data.

 

Anyone else had this problem?

I had this with my iPhone a while back and had to send it off to apple to get a replacement sent!

Have you tried holding the volume button and the home button at the same time for 20 seconds or so?

although that might be a hard reset and might mean you need to restore from a mac.

unfortunately when they do that, a restore is the only option. Live and learn....

 

Then next step is sending back to apple.

Friend's girlfriend had similar over the weekend.... The iPad was trying to update ios but didn't have enough charge to complete the process. Try plugging it in to a high output (2amp+) charger and letting it do its thing.

From my own experience this problem is generally caused by a device that was interrupted during a firmware update. The only solution I have found is to restore the device. If youre backing up to iCloud then your data should be safe.
